Flat roofs – especially those with solar panels – face an increasing fire risk. Even the best fire-retardant membranes offer limited protection against flying sparks or thermal ignition beneath PV panels. That’s why AllShield developed two non-combustible fire protection systems, each tailored to a specific application.

FM 4470 & FM 4478 Approved lightweight fire protection for new and existing flat roofs

Choose AllShield BarrierSheet for new construction or if the remaining lifespan of the roofing is shorter than that of the solar panels. These 2.5 mm thin, ultra-light, non-combustible boards, also known as 'Cover boards', are easy to install on top of old roofing and under new roof membranes to prevent fire spread, especially under PV systems/solar panels. Quick to apply, highly effective, and maintenance-free. FM 4470 and 4478 Approved for use with and without solar panels.

FM 4484 & FM 4482 Approved fire protection for existing flat roofs

Choose AllShield Blue for the protection of relatively new, waterproof flat roofs with roofing that has a long remaining lifespan. This white, mineral-based, non-combustible roof coating is applied directly to existing roofing and forms a seamless protective layer that limits fire spread, especially under PV systems and solar panels. Quick to apply, highly effective, and maintenance-free, while extending the lifespan of the roof. FM 4484 and 4482 Approved for use with and without solar panels.
