AllShield Blue is officially FM 4482 Approved. This mineral coating creates an extra fire-resistant layer on existing roofs and makes them recognized as Class 1 Roofs – fire-safe and insurable.
UPDATE: In october 2025 AllShield Blue was also FM 4484 Approved for Roofs with PV. Read more.
Since February 2025, AllShield Blue is officially FM 4482 Approved. This means our mineral roof coating complies with the strictest international standard for flat roofs without PV panels.
For roof owners and insurers, this brings direct assurance: a roof with AllShield Blue can achieve an FM Class 1 Fire Rating and is recognized as low risk and fully therefore insurable. Because AllShield Blue is applied directly as an extra layer on top of the existing membrane, fire safety is achieved without the need to fully replace the roof system.
Insurers that base their risk assessments on FM standards can now insure roofs with AllShield Blue.
FM 4482 is the Approval Standard for Roof Coverings. The standard specifically applies to coatings and liquid-applied roof layers without PV panels.
The test evaluates complete roof assemblies on:
Only roof assemblies that pass all these tests or elements of the test are waived by FM are listed in RoofNav as FM Approved.
FM 4482 is the global reference for fire safety of roofs with liquid-applied coatings without PV. Insurers use this standard because a roof without FM classification poses a significantly higher risk of rapid fire spread.
With the Approval of AllShield Blue, certainty is created: insurers know that roofs with this coating comply with the highest international requirements.
AllShield Blue is a mineral-based liquid coating that is now officially FM 4482 Approved.
Durable and circular – UV resistant, solvent-free, and fully recyclable.

AllShield now complies with multiple FM standards:
In addition to FM 4482, AllShield Blue also holds European certifications providing extra assurance for fire safety of non-PV roofs:
These certifications confirm that AllShield Blue provides the same level of safety in the European context as FM 4482 requires internationally.
With FM 4482 Approval of AllShield Blue, a new benchmark is set for fire-safe, durable, and insurable flat roofs without PV. Insurers worldwide recognize roofs with this coating as low risk, while additional European certifications confirm the same high level of safety.
For building owners this means maximum assurance: their roof is not only technically protected, but also internationally recognized and insurable.
Flat roofs – especially those with solar panels – face an increasing fire risk. Even the best fire-retardant membranes offer limited protection against flying sparks or thermal ignition beneath PV panels. That’s why AllShield developed two non-combustible fire protection systems, each tailored to a specific application.
